No, S'well Bottles are not freezer-safe. S'well Bottles are so well insulated, the ThermaS'well Technology TM doesn't allow the cold (or hot) to penetrate. Even putting your S'well Bottle in the freezer for a short period of time can affect the insulation from expansion. So please don't freeze a S'well Bottle; if you like your drinks really cold, just add ice. Note the opening of the S'well bottle was designed to fit standard ice cubes (it's 1-3/8" wide).

No, S'well bottles are not dishwasher safe. The ThermaS'well™ technology can be compromised and the vacuum seal may fail. Also, the color wrap may become damaged due to dishwasher use. See the "How do I clean my S'well" FAQ for more use/care instructions. S'wells are happiest when hand-washed and air-dried.

We spent over a year on prototype design, consumer focus groups and product testing (and extensive FDA materials testing). From our research, most bottled water is purchased to drink on the go, so it was important for this bottle to be insulated, made of double-walled stainless steel of the highest quality (18/8) to keep water cold even when left in a hot car on a summer day, or to keep tea warm, even when left on the nightstand overnight. Inside the cap is made of BPA-free polypropylene with a latex-free silicone ring to vacuum seal the cap tight.

Let's highlight HEALTHY here: when we decided on the paint, we looked for a solution that was safe & eco-friendly first and foremost. True durability had to be sacrificed in this case. Some people love a scratch-resistant product that can withstand anything, but we found some of those paints and coatings to have toxins and lead... and we wouldn't dare go near anything like that.
